I know—you’re probably thinking something’s off . . . wasn’t this supposed to be a military diver newsletter?
Not even close.
I’m a huge airplane nut, and most of the warfighters I talk to feel the same way. So I’m going to be sharing a lot of aviation content with our subscribers.
Especially since we’ve got a hot-shit Top Gun Aggressor pilot as a core member of the Secret Order of the Delta Divers of Vietnam—commonly referred to as “The Order.”
Retired Captain Don E. Auten is not only a go-fast attack guy and A-4 driver—he’s also an author and military historian — and full disclosure — my cousin.
He was instrumental in making the 1st Annual Delta Divers “Hey, Hey, We’re Not Dead Yet” Reunion 2025 a big success. He arranged a VIP tour of Pensacola’s Naval Aviation Museum for the boys.
He’s also a subject-matter expert for the Delta Diver’s newsletter.
